Bio - Sheri-Ann Best, LCSW

Founder & Clinical Director, Broadhollow Psychotherapy

Sheri-Ann Best, LCSW, Founder & Clinical Director of Broadhollow Psychotherapy, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with advanced training in EMDR, the Trauma Conscious Yoga Method, Reiki, and a Trauma Recovery Certification from Adelphi University.

She works with survivors of complex trauma, people navigating ADHD, and Black women seeking a safe and affirming space for healing. Her practice is also open to individuals managing depression, anxiety, and the many challenges of day-to-day life.

Sheri-Ann believes there are many different paths to healing, and that true change often requires going beyond talk therapy. Drawing from approaches like EMDR, IFS, NARM, Polyvagal Theory, yoga, Reiki, and other somatic practices, she helps clients use the body’s natural design for restoration. Her work is client-centered and deeply collaborative, always honoring each person’s unique story. For Sheri-Ann, therapy is not just about symptom relief — it’s about creating space for genuine healing, resilience, and the possibility of living more fully.

Her superpower as a therapist is her ability to meet clients where they are — no two sessions look the same. She adapts to the needs of the moment, blending evidence-based practices with a genuine personal connection. Her style is warm, collaborative, and flexible, with humor often woven in to make space for both relief and perspective. Sheri-Ann believes in honoring many paths to healing, and she walks alongside clients as they discover what works best for them.

Outside of the therapy room, Sheri-Ann is a lifelong learner who is always exploring new ways to support healing. She is the author of For Sister Girls Who’ve Wondered Why They Can’t Get Their Sht Together When the ADHD Was Enough* and a TEDx speaker, with her talk Know Your Aces inspiring audiences to rethink the impact of trauma and resilience. She loves music, travel, and finding practices that keep her grounded — modeling the same self-care she encourages for her clients. Rooted in Long Island, Sheri-Ann is deeply connected to the community she serves.

Her hope is that clients leave therapy not only with relief, but with a deeper belief in their own capacity to heal.

FOR SISTER GIRLS WHO'VE WONDERED THEY CAN'T GET THEIR SH*T TOGETHER WHEN THE ADHD IS ENOUGH

FOR SISTER GIRLS WHO’VE WONDERED WHY THEY CAN’T GET THEIR SH*T TOGETHER WHEN THE ADHD IS ENOUGH is an affirmation journal for Black women with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Think of it as a love letter to all the fellow ADHDers out there who have been struggling but are just told to focus harder. With humor, heart, and a hefty dose of empathy, Sheri-Ann Best helps to debunk the myths and celebrates the unique strengths of Black women with ADHD
